CEREMONI
In cultures all over the world we find examples of how creativity pays an
important role in ceremonial activities. In worshiping certain rituals are
being held and here an individual may strengthen their boundaries to their
tradition, tribes and beliefs. In practicing, you often make a sacrifice
and sacrifices can have many forms, – one way to make an offering
may be to make use of artistic skill.
This variation of forms in ritual worshiping has been of a great interest
for many western artists such as Picasso and has served as an inspiration
in their own art. With a background from western art tradition this project
examines our own roots living in a modern world where questions about motherhood
and coming generations have been central.
Aesthetical expressions have been inspirited by ceremonial creativity around
the world, such as “despachs” in south
America and the god/goddess Legba in Africa.
